Training Opportunity


Clinical Attachment Programme in Aseptic Dispensing, Cytotoxic Handling and Compounding
 
Objectives

-

To introduce the participant to the concepts of aseptic dispensing, cytotoxic handling and compounding in a clean room environment
-

To equip the participant with the necessary skills to perform these techniques and culminate with a validation of these techniques
Course Outline

• Introduction to clean rooms and laminar air flow cabinets (LAFC)
• Attire and gowning in clean room
• Introduction to aseptic dispensing techniques
• Aseptic dispensing for cytotoxic agents
• Health & safety issues in aseptic dispensing
• Quality assurance
• Setting up of a clean room and sterile laboratory facility
• Validation of aseptic dispensing techniques
 

Methodology

Clinical attachment and 1:1 training involving pre-readings, tutorials, hands-on training, pre and post course evaluation.

For Whom /Pre-requisites

Hospital pharmacist or pharmacy technician, preferably with some previous exposure to aseptic dispensing
